Created ca. 1900-1910, this Art Nouveau pendant necklace by Edouard-Aimé Arnould is composed of 18K gold and an aquamarine. The pendant, fully chased and engraved front and verso, is designed as two dragonflies perched on a water lily blossom trailing buds and vines and centering a circular-cut aquamarine, suspended from a necklace of twisted foliate links accented by water lilies and two old mine-cut diamonds. Sensitively chased throughout and with lifelike sculptural realization, this pendant necklace represents a beloved Art Nouveau theme handled in an original, subtle and sensitive manner.
